Watching the recording process for "Poet | Artist" and Onew was so polite and professional but kept giving the lyrics and demo track "bro what the fuck" looks (especially that 3 octave climb 🤣🤣 "Jonghyun WHY" was written on his face lmfao).
Key in the booth now and he's straight up "idk how Jonghyun got the rhythm of this" lolol but like wistful-fond incredulity.
"I want to get [Jonghyun's] nuance in there more" 🥺ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ KEY. (Also lmao the t-shirt he wore that day: "my mom hates this t-shirt". 😂)
Taemin being all "I want to nail Jonghyun's style" and doing so and being so pleased with that. 🥺💕 (Also how cute and flustered but GOOD he is in the recording booth. Still.) And then he got glomped by Minho who immediately started twitting him. (Apparently Taemin still gets called the baby lmfao.)
Now Minho! Lmao Minho being the lowest voice of the group means he actually recorded only a bit because Jonghyun didn't write many low notes in because he was, like Taemin is, HIGH tenor. Instead he did clownery. 😂😂
Anyway you can see a loooottt of wistful "Jonghyun should be here with us, not us recording this for/with this recording of him" but none of it looked day ruining sadness moments. Honestly I think Onew might have been the least comfortable in the booth but I don't think he was feeling forced either. Just like it was a lot, maybe.

What a tribute. And it *feels* like a Jjong song overall so what a way to say they're ready to come back as a group. (I haven't begrudged them a single moment; grief is weird and hard and kinda never stops. And if I, a fan, get randomly sad about Jjong... how very much harder must THEY get it? 🫂 for SHINee.)
(Tongue in cheek observation: Onew and Taemin can no longer be easily mistaken for each other. My hard won ability to recognize them is slightly "error" about this. 🤣🤣)
