Arrived yesterday at #SwiftIsland and will give 3 times a workshop about….. shhhh…. It’s still a secret ;-)

It's been ages since I created an open source package, let alone an #SPM package; however today I'm introducing "Simple Calendar"; the Schedule / Calendar view from the #SwiftIsland app. Fully written in #SwiftUI / #Swift. Get it here: https://github.com/ppeelen/SimpleCalendar/

Second day at #SwiftIsland started with @jordibruin showing the basics of visionOS. And then go quite a bit more immersive with volumetric windows, 3D models and spatial audio. Great workshop for a great new platform! 🥽👨‍💻

The day ended with a delicious barbecue at #SwiftIsland and a fun pub quiz as per tradition. Unlike the tradition I was part of the winning team: “The Guessers?” 🥳 Many thanks to the sponsors of the quiz! Lots of cool new apps and podcasts to check out.

The greatest thing I take with me after finishing the last workshop at #swiftIsland, is developers telling me afterwards how excited they now have become to build and design for #watchOS

In the last session of the day at #SwiftIsland @tomlokhorst showed how to implement SharePlay. Not trivial but also not too difficult. I hope to see more apps starting to support this.

Designed a new Apple Watch app using the new watchOS 10 features in the workshop by @fosiaDesign together with @ppeelen at #SwiftIsland Designing for 2-3 seconds moments is deceivingly hard but rewarding.

Started #SwiftIsland with a workshop on animations by Maxim Cramer. Learned about the new phase and keyframe animators and what makes animations look believable based on the principles of animations and doing a little dance. #SwiftIsland2023
