#geology i need to find a new blogsite to post up these outcrops. and i need to learn more about how they form.

something to do with #taconic #flysch. that is, sediments settling out deep on the continental slope between the eastern shore of the #ordovician north american continent and the taconic island arc to the east slowly crashing into it.

now i'm confused whether these sediments are coming from the continent or the island arc or both.
