I've been super busy these last two weeks - interviewing for jobs and working on take home assignments. It's been a lot of fun, but doesn't leave a lot of time for #tooting!

As usual there is loads of funding money. I want to see a land train, like they have in Battersea park. A lot of the drainage ditches can be be made into flowing features for wild life.

Fun fact: all the original grass for the Kennington Oval was originally from Tooting Bec Common. They humped it down Kennington Road by horse and cart.

Yeah… nah. That never works. I was just ranting in my toot. Raging because I am but a speck of dust among humanity and my petty foibles mean nothing in the grand scale of things. Venting really. Forever grateful the #fediverse lets me do it from time to time (more often that I care to admit actually). Thank you for interacting but don’t waste your time on me with this one. #Tooting station in south-west #London has completed a £5.4m #accessibility upgrade, with two new platform lifts now open, providing step-free access for wheelchair users and those with mobility issues. The project, finished in January 2024, included CCTV installation, widened footways, and a £57,000 investment by #Thameslink for a wide ticket gate. The station's entrance and ticket hall are also being refurbished with new lighting and a ceiling. The work was carried out with minimal disruption to passengers. The Access for All scheme, funded by the government and managed by Network Rail, aims to make stations more accessible for all.
