Yesterday, I downloaded the free PDFs for #FabulaUltima #TTJRPG #JRPG from DriveThruRPG.

I only did so because YouTube stuck a video about it in front of me and I really liked the artwork.

"Fabula Ultima" has, of course, the same semantic meaning as "Final Fantasy", and even bills itself as "what if D&D, but Square Enix?" (while completely ignoring the existence of the actual #SquareEnix #FFXIV #TTRPG #copyright #trademark #infringement).

Anyway, here's hoping it's anything interesting.

Da qualche anno non sono un grande fan di KS ma #NeedGames è un azienda seria che merita il giusto rispetto. Inoltre, il gioco di Fabula lo gioco da qualche anno e se non l'avete mai provato, dovreste proprio farlo.

I've been reading the #FabulaUltima #ttrpg (or rather #ttjrpg but that's not a useful hashtag) today and I am very impressed. It feels like it takes an approach which would suit so many 5e players and give them what they want from a game - story and character focused but still with dice and combat and builds and items - when they are frustrated by some of 5e's incompatible system assumptions.

If you want to play a game with a bunch of folk going on an epic quest why fight that? Lean into it.

So I gave my #TTJRPG a test run last night with 2 players and it works surprisingly well!! Definitely needs some rebalancing though. One punch should not be enough to one shot a hyena.
Very very happy with how quick it was to set up, considering it involved about 75% of character creation and teaching all the rules. Got through a standard combat and a miniboss fight in maybe half an hour? Very snappy. Very very good.
