Both men are known social critics who have traded insults online for months. Very Dark Man had earlier challenged Mr Jollof to a physical fight in Abuja. He vowed to confront his critic after an earlier online clash between them.
How the clash started
Passengers say trouble started soon after boarding, when Very Dark Man spotted Jollof. He reportedly walked down the aisle and began to speak in a raised tone. Other passengers quickly raised phones, waiting for a fresh exchange between them.
Video shared online shows the men grabbing at each other between the seats. Very Dark Man appears to push forward while Mr Jollof leans back in defence. Some passengers shout as the short fight spills into the narrow aisle.
At one point, Very Dark Man seems to pin his rival by the neck. Several hands reach in to pull them apart before the tension grows worse. Witnesses later said crew begged people to stay calm while they stepped in.
Airline response and passenger safety
United Nigeria staff later asked both men to leave the plane before takeoff. Passengers said the move was to prevent more trouble and keep the cabin calm. The flight then continued after crew checked that everyone felt safe to travel.
As at press time, the airline had not released a formal statement. There is no report yet that police were called or that arrests were made. Social media users still share the clips and argue about blame.
Many commenters fault both men for fighting in such a tight space. Others say the clash fits a pattern of loud celebrity feuds on flights. Similar talk followed a recent onboard dispute involving another Nigerian star.
Very Dark Man is known for harsh online takes on politicians and stars. He often posts long clips where he names people and calls out wrongs. Supporters praise his courage, while critics say his tone is rude and unsafe.
Mr Jollof, a comic and media host, also shares bold views on issues. He has mocked Very Dark Man in past videos, calling him hungry for fame. The latest clash now moves their online war into a real world space.
