The pages of #history are replete with #societies and #civilisations living amidst the peals of alarm bells without taking warranted actions to face the emerging threats.
When the calamity reaches their doorsteps, there is outcry and demands from early victims yet still no concerted effort to mitigate the threats are made.
Only with #calamity and #death all around, when the bells have been silenced, when society is disrupted and civilisation collapses do the people rue their inactions and lack of preparations.
Thus societies and civilisations alike undergo #upheavals and the horrendous cosls of enforced #changes.
And so the wheel of history turns, as it ever did, and is turning again.
