Man, one of THOSE days. Working on what I thought was a code issue when in reality I had neglected to keep in mind that ESP32 basic units only support 2.4GHz APs!
What canât I connect to my other hotspot? Because itâs 5GHz, dummy!
Change the iPhone personal hotspot config to âMaximize Compatibilityâ (2.4GHz only) and magic happens!
Wooot! Brought in the strategic reserve of #allTheWifi and made it to the @WiGLEnet Top 50!

Turning OFF the BlueTooth scanning really boosts the WiFi finds on the base channels!

With a little (lot) help from my daughter and her band tours, I've topped 2.5 million discovered-by-me (us) APs on the @WiGLEnet big board. Position #52, heading for the top fifty

First run is promising, side-by-side 5G units, 660+ more APs with the mod.
The last of my #hhb24wigle points are tallied, squeezed out 18 more new APs with the #M5Stack AtomGPS unit. 7th place!
Funny part is my wife thought it was the whole weekend so she was ready to go drive this morning đ
Last captures for #hhb24wigle have been uploaded. S20 and Pixel6 #warboat wasnât a huge loop, weâll see what they do inside an iron tube in the dark!
