#day21 A drama that was better than expected
I have all sorts of prejudices based on titles. As for #Happiness I was expecting some low-grade horror show with romance being the main aspect of the plot. I couldn't have been more wrong!
It's what I wanted and even more. It's a psychological/horror thriller, there's a power struggle, just the right amount of romance, intriguing characters and a captivating plot.

The 9.6 rating on Viki & 8.9 on MDL are well-deserved. I rewatched for Halloween & it was even better than the 1st time. An apartment building is placed in lockdown when an illegal drug creates a contagious zombie-like disease. Caught in the building are a Special Ops & Police officer who have decided to be married to qualify for an apartment. The other building inhabitants work with & against the leads to showcase the best & worst of humanity during a crisis.
Greed is shown so well that you may yell at the screen. Does religion save you, or does it cover up problems? The power & money-hungry, classist neighbors have a lot to learn. There's mystery, action, a bit of horror, romance, & the leads are fantastic. This was an outstanding drama for PHS after his military service. I am surprised that it wasn't nominated for more awards.

For anyone who likes to watch #horror or #thriller content in October, I can HIGHLY recommend #해피니스 #Happiness a fabulous #kdrama where random residents of an apartment building get infected with a virus that turns them into vampire-like beings. The lead actors are SO good and the OST and sound FX are amazing. Lots of #suspense.

The great thing about "Happiness" is that the zombie/horror part is not the story. It’s about making the decision to treat people with humanity no matter their circumstance, some romance, & a good mystery thrown in too!
