Your periodic reminder that most CLI password prompts accept Ctrl+U to fully clear input so you can try again. Leave that backspace key alone.
Happy #ADHD treasure season (finding lost things in your coat pockets from last winter) to all who celebrate
That icky sense of growing deeply ashamed for your country worsens with each passing day this sorry excuse for a human being remains in office. From the NYT:
"The Trump administration told states that they must “immediately undo” any actions to provide full food stamp benefits to low-income families, in a move that added to the chaos and uncertainty surrounding the nation’s largest anti-hunger program during the government shutdown."
Since you pay for the service, Kagi makes money when you’re happy, not when you click on ads or share your data to be commodified. It’s that simple. No conflicting interests, no hidden agendas.

And this, kids, is why we never ever set up easy-to-guess passwords. Even in testing, even temporarily. Just pwgen it, every time.
> accessing the museum's video surveillance server required typing the all-too-obvious word: LOUVRE
Something very important to know in your threat model if you use Tor Browser on Windows:
By default it installs to your Desktop folder, which is by default mirrored to OneDrive at Microsoft. Microsoft has access to your OneDrive content for cybersecurity analysis via privacy carve outs. The Tor folder contains sensitive content.
The solution is to install at root of C: drive.

So #youtube is deleting videos of people showing how to install #Windows 11 on computers without TPMs and using local accounts. Can't imagine why.
So, please share mine! I make absolutely no money on my videos, I purely educate.

amazon and azure having massive outages a week apart is inauspicious and the fact that they’re both companies going all-in on replacing expertise with chat bots is conspicuous
Hey friends, shit's fucked. Lots of people are struggling. And a lot of people who can help don't know where to start. So to kick off some extra giving, here's an offer: DM us a receipt of a donation you made for $50USD or more to a food bank and we'll mail you a GAYINT sticker. While supplies last. We only have like 50 stickers left from the first batch but more is on order already. Is that a lot for a sticker? Yes. It's just a fucking sticker. But helping direct people to a way to help their community is priceless.
Feeling super generous? Or maybe you just want to show off? DM a receipt showing a donation of $1000USD or more to a food bank and we'll work on getting you a threat actor name of your own in the upcoming GAYINT Threat Actor Taxonomy v2.
Can't donate? That's cool. Boost this toot and help where you can. Also, food banks, as well as the entire food distribution chain in the US, always need more volunteer labor.
Don't know of a good food bank local to you? Check here: https://www.feedingamerica.org/find-your-local-foodbank/all-food-banks
Currently we can only guarantee delivery of stickers to people with US addresses. International delivery isn't something we are currently prepared to do. Sorry. But at least you likely live in a country where this shit isn't necessary.
the Retropals streaming community has this word that means something that's a bit soft, round and cute; that word is "blomby". I keep forgetting that not everyone knows the word blomby. But together, we can make the world a little blombier
(The origin is an old top-down racing game called "Blomby Car" where they were apparently trying to invoke the "vroom vroom" sound and something got lost in translation, so we all interpreted it as referring to the tiny, nonthreatening sprite of the Blomby Car toddling around.)
RTO: bosses want to see butts on chairs, companies want to justify their office rent, cities want workers to spend lunch money downtown but other than some vague "culture" / "random convos" where are the studies showing lower productivity working remote? https://tinyurl.com/yc2cydee
