How to y’all feel about #Kagi search? I’m trying the $10 plan and it seems really good so far. It’s pricey but it might be worth it. Definitely avoids the problems that google has, and DuckDuckGo just doesn’t cut it for me.
We're actively exploring partnerships with like-minded companies, deeper integration with external services (both bringing their services into Kagi and integrating Kagi into theirs), and opening access to our APIs.
If you have partnership ideas, we'd love to hear from you: https://form.kagi.com/partnership
@ernie Replacing what's at the _beginning_ of the URL is even better:
Gruber even compares it to what you suggest (more or less): https://daringfireball.net/2025/04/try_switching_to_kagi
#Kagi Why is @fasterthanlime article dates are "Jan 1, 1970" on Kagi ? :blobfoxshocked:
You have choices and high quality options available. You don't have to accept an ad-infested experience, use AI you can't control or settle for mediocre or incorrect results. It's harmful to the web, compromises your privacy, and makes it difficult to find relevant information by humans.

Anyone that want's to share a #Kagi Duo subscription? It'll cost 7$ per month, I wouldn't care if you or I create the account
Kagi just hit 50,000 members? Surprised it’s that low.
I switched from DuckDuck when I was trying to find an obscure fact. DuckDuck and Google returned everything but. Kagi had it on the first page. Few weeks later became a subscriber because of its reliability.
Or... switch to Kagi, where disabling this feature is as simple as flipping an "off" toggle in the settings. It remains inactive unless you choose to enable it, and you also have the option to filter out AI-generated images from your search results:
Corey Doctorow on the enshittification of Google and the awesomeness of Kagi. Just brilliant summation.

@kaiser_photo @tomnorthfilm #Kagi is interesting. I've just been reading about it, haven't tried it yet. They suggest that the $5 plan should suffice for all but 1% of users. There are quite a few mentions of AI/LLMs in the pages I was reading; not clear to me yet how well-separated they are from results. Also not quite clear where their main search index is from; they mention a couple of bespoke indexes they have, but something hinted that they actually use G$$g's index? Liked the lower carbon!
If Kagi has improved your online experience, share the difference - gift a Kagi subscription to someone you care about:
@swordgeek #Kagi. Yes you have to PAY (wash my mouth out!), but it's sooooo worth it - like Google in it's prime. And paying hopefully means no enshittification.
So is #kagi search a good idea? Any experiences?
All right. I'm giving this a try.
#kagi
I ended my #Kagi subscription 11 days ago, and switched back to #DuckDuckGo. Honestly, I haven't really noticed any difference. I still found what I wanted to find, and I'm $10/month better off.
🤷🏻♂️
Alright, finally subscribed to #Kagi It’s so much better than the alternative
