It is with a very heavy heart that @beardedtechguy and @cliffwade are having to make this announcement, however, it's something that needs to be done. Unfortunately we are going to need to shut down AllThingsTech.social, the Mastodon instance and the blog.
There are several reasons for this, but the biggest reason is the fact that we simply don't have the funds to continue paying the server fees associated with it any longer. (continued...)

With regards to the AllThingsTech Discord server, that will remain functional as we have a great little community there and we'd love to keep that as a place for all of us to keep in contact and continue having the great conversations that we have currently. Hey ATT Community,
Cliff and I have decided to reduce the media cache retention from 200 days to 60. Our resources are nearing capacity. So to help with the DB size, we are reducing it.
Unfortunately without much support, we are unable to ramp up the server at this time. Of course, we don't expect any support, just telling like it is and wanting to the community to know of the change.

Hello all! The CDN provider, bunny.net, that our host provider uses is currently having some issues. The problem pertains to media files failing to load.

As you can tell, #AllThingsTech is back up and running after a bit longer of a maintenance period than we initially expected.
Unfortunately the migration didn't go as planned, so we brought the instance back up and are still hosted at Masto.host at this time.
We plan to give the migration another try in the coming days/weeks and hopefully be successful and move the instance to being fully self-hosted!
