Any advice from experienced mastodon users on how to make the experience more interactive? I miss DMs, threads and the general back and forth I am used to with the bird site. Thanks! #mastodonadvice
@stuartcantrill for us it’s either continue cleaning the basement or start baking and thinking about wine….
@gsuberland so so true!!!
I recently discovered this divide between chemistry and astronomy and had to make the meme.
@UROCKlive1 this is never a good sign for any company. #obviousstatements
Employees showed Musk internal data regarding engagement with his account, along with a Google Trends chart. Last April, Musk was at “peak” popularity in search rankings, indicated by a score of “100.” Today, he’s at a score of nine. Engineers had previously investigated whether Musk’s reach had somehow been artificially restricted, but found no evidence that the algorithm was biased against him.
Musk did not take the news well.
“You’re fired,” Musk told the engineer.

As per that last boost about authors and social media: It's a really insidious thing that's been happening for the past dozen years or so. Publishers have been pushing authors to market themselves on social media, and to build a community of readers, and most of us did. One by one, platforms have made it harder and harder to connect with our audience. So now, when most marketing is done via social media, social media is crumbling. Share what you love. Authors really need it.
Attempting a thread here-and yes thr home office features a write-on wall. #geekout
Those who think cats aren’t loyal have probably never had a cat as a pet. Now that I have a new home office, this little cutie keeps me company in the background pretty well every day (for those who are fans of control experiments, this isn’t her usual sleeping spot, in fact she never sleeps here unless I’m here working). #cats #workingfromhome #catlifebalance #catlife #academicmasdoton
Not to brag, but I was spewing out hilariously incorrect information before huge tech companies decided to create AI chatbots and ruin the internet.
If I did data center consolidations this way back when I was at @IBM and a lead architect in their server consolidation practice, not only would I have been fired but I would have been railroaded out of this industry to never be seen again
@JoParkerBear agree. It’s not like Twitter was a paragon of virtue before musk. Same with Facebook.
@DataDrivenMD I’m just glad I don’t have to use #instagram
#twitter crashing. According to the amazing Beaverton, musk still worrying site making too much money. Love thr #beaverton #satire
