@kilnfiendpotter I got maybe a third of the way through "A Game of Thrones" and just couldn't. I didn't like any of the characters for most of it, then he introduced a character I was at least a little interested in and he immediately fell off a roof. I never picked the book up again, and never tried the show.

@0xabad1dea Maybe I won't worry about it, then. It isn't a massive deal, especially with mixed pronouns (it's harder to get it wrong when people have options, lol) but I still like having them somewhere people can see.

@kilnfiendpotter My mom played this album so much when I was young. I probably haven't heard it in 20+ years, but I can still hear every now of that song, you just had to mention it.

But yeah, that man made quite a diverse range of music.

@stephaniepixie I forget where I heard this, but recently someone made the point that the life expectancy of primitive humans was only like 33 or so. And that put into that context, all the aches and pains we feel in our late 30s and onward make a bit more sense... our bodies are optimized for those early years. 20-somethings are still fairly spry and can fall asleep in almost any position with very few consequences.

@Theotime812 I think it varies somewhat depending on the rest of the outfit. But the first thing that comes to mind is, like, active vibes? Like, the kind of person who is ready to go for a hike at the drop off a hat.

@BathysphereHat @gemini6ice I actually don't mind that one, but there are a few others on there that I can't stand. I think the one that bothers me the most is a "voice filter" that modulates voices to sound like a particular type of cartoon character.

@Theotime812 I tend to port my OCs from one game to another, and they vary a bit in looks but always have at least a few defining traits. Over time it adds up to an overall defining look.

I'd suggest messing around with character creation in games with a lot of options like The Sims or Elden Ring or whatever suits your character. Picrew can be good for this too, just make sure you credit the artist if you share it around. Mess around with the options until you find something that feels right for your character.
