This is what I couldn't talk about earlier. 🫣
"Kazrog has always been a cross platform company, supporting macOS and Windows from day one. But the Linux music production community has spoken up, and we've listened.
We're introducing Linux support with Retro Sta-Level, and we're bringing Linux support to the rest of our plugins this year."
I think this is great news for #linuxaudio and look forward to seeing the rest of their #plugin lineup come to #linux step by step. 🤓

We've been working on a re-design for the Fountain app over the past month - and I'm looking for a couple of people who would be interested in testing and giving some feedback on the new design - ideally you already use Fountain or have used it previously but switched away because you didn't like the design.

Please let me know if you're interested in helping out!

1/2 - TrueFans now supports OPML both import and export!

Its funny because I thought OPML was a universal exchange format and there would only be one version of OPML?

It seems not. Apple, PocketCast, Overcast, Podverse etc. all appear to have a different format?

Equally several podcast apps only have an import OPML function!?

We think we have all formats covered. You import them to your playlists page as a new playlist. You can play, curate, rename or delete the playlist. @goldsteinmedia

If I had an official reading list, The Bitcoin Standard would on the second one on my list!

The chapter on time preference changed the way I think about things.

@genebean Glad you had a chance to read this. I consider it a fantastic co-read to This Week in Bitcoin.

PV2.0 status update:

The goal of this infrastructure is to support ALL podcasting 2.0 features, and full feature parity between web and mobile.

Work on the new database and parser system is mostly finished.

Progress on the data API is going well. Added basic channel and item (aka podcast and episode) endpoints, and a new auth system for login.

The improved separation of concerns of Podverse modules (10 REPOS 😳) has made coding PV2.0 much cleaner and easier.

@mitch, I pinged you on Matrix, too, but I think you might have retired over there.

I was hoping I could get some help, we are launching a new show, but the Podverse embedded player we use I think need on your end to make a change. Some association between the show/feed and our website tells the embed player it's ok for us to embed and play that show.

This is the feed for the show: serve.podhome.fm/rss/04b078f9-

And the show: podverse.fm/podcast/7vbU3baydv

@dave It seemed to simmer down a few hours later. It was nutty for a bit, almost like a spam attack.

This one is pinging every few seconds, has one episode published: podcastindex.org/podcast/70541

Does anyone else notice the same handful of podcasts that seem to be blasting podping non-stop?

tiles.podping.org/

I'm checking one of them; it only has one episode. It seems odd, and more importantly, it looks like other podcasts are not getting published.

@odysseywestra Oh, thanks, I just saw this after I recorded TWiB, but I will check it out!

Here's a clip from Self-Hosted giving you a quick primer of how the Lightning Network works in junction with Bitcoin.

They go into much more depth if you want to listen to the full episode, but this will get you a rough idea of how it works.

But overall, this is a very good way to not only pay for podcasts in the podcasting 2.0 network in the form of boosts and zaps, but this should also be a way to start also funding developers and the open source ecosystem as well.

@StevenB That episode is no longer pending, but yes, I belive it is for all types of episodes. It's not just pending as far as I know.

@StevenB For an example, you could look at our current LIT pending episode of LINUX Unplugged.

curiocaster.com -> LUP page -> Scheduled Programs -> boost button on the current pending item -> issue: the podcast field in the boostagram data appears to be filled with the episode (live) name instead of the podcast name.

@StevenB 👋 I think we hit a small (very small) bug in CurioCaster. We've automated our boost collection/formatting for our show notes, but we noticed we were not seeing boosts from CurioCaster users.

CurioCaster is putting the episode name in the podcast name field. So the episode title is in there twice, and the name of the Podcast (which we filter on) is not listed.

Example:

:boostagram/episode "Rustle and Tumble",
:boostagram/podcast "Rustle and Tumble",

NEW! Insert Dynamic Audio anywhere in your episode.

Use the audio visualizer to insert a piece of dynamic audio anywhere in your podcast episodes.

Change the audio later and we'll change it in every episode.

This is super useful for host-read ads, timely messages and more.

Go try it out today at podhome.fm

@js Any guess what would cause a spike for Podtrac like that?

@adam @js It Seems pretty clear he got his feelings hurt somehow, maybe by something said.

This implies that he is unprofessional enough to let that cloud his judgment and withhold features that would make his customers' podcasts more competitive.

Yikes. If I had not migrated off Libsyn years ago, hearing him say this would have been a huge red flag screaming GTFO.
