The last index update triggered a bug in the official #FDroid client, and Basic: you'll see a toast with "not nullable: icon" and the index won't update. We have reverted the related change and working on fixing the bug. The fix will take about two build cycles to be deployed, so about one week. You can get the latest index now by cleaning app data/reinstalling, but setup your 3-rd party repos and priorities back. Or better remove&re-add only the F-Droid repo.

@evacide I've already removed Gemini via adb once. I'll do it again if it comes back after this forced opt-in.

I am not going to tell anyone that the Gemini app package is actually called com.google.android.apps.bard. I am also not advising anyone to follow these instructions:

1. Download and install ADB on your computer from the Android SDK Platform-Tools package

2. Enable Developer Options on your Android device:

3. Go to Settings > About phone > Software information

4. Tap "Build Number" seven times

5. Go to Settings > Developer options > USB debugging

6. Connect your Android device to your computer using a USB cable

7. Open Command Prompt or Terminal in the folder where ADB is installed

8. Verify the connection via command prompt or terminal by running the command: adb devices

9. Then run one of the two following commands:

adb uninstall com.google.android.apps.bard

Or

adb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.google.android.apps.bard

10. Then verify the package has been removed by running: adb shell pm list packages | grep bard

Wenn Not und Ungerechtigkeiten zu groß werden, die Ausbeutung fast ausgereizt ist und die Gefahr besteht, dass sich Menschen, die nichts mehr zu verlieren haben, über alle Vorurteile hinweg zusammenschließen könnten, dann gilt immer noch: Lass sie sich gegenseitig zerfleischen. Gib ihnen die falschen Feindbilder und hetz sie gegeneinander auf. Adobe is now processing all your PDFs in the cloud, by default. The setting to “Enable generative AI features in Acrobat” was on, and I didn’t know it until I opened a document and Adobe asked me if I wanted a document summary. It’s annoying to have to click “No,” so I opened settings to disable the prompt.

THE PROBLEM
I sign Non-Disclosure Agreements for many of my clients. Adobe is a potential leak of protected information. I don’t know what Adobe does with this information. I don’t know what they store, or for how long. I don’t know what country (or countries) the data is stored in. I don’t know what LLMs are trained with this data. And I don’t need to know. What I need to know is that they won’t use default opt-in as a legal excuse to wiretap my information.

I recommend that you check your Adobe settings on all devices, for all Adobe accounts.

Was mich am meisten fertig macht an dieser Gesellschaft vor dem Klimakollaps ist nicht etwa die Politik, da ist alles verloren, sondern die alltägliche Routine: Menschen gehen weiterhin arbeiten und studieren, betreiben Lebensplanung, gehen feiern, als würde es eine normale Zukunft geben.

Das Ziel des Kapitalismus ist immer Minimierung der Personalkosten bei Maximierung der Produktion und des Profits, also Sklavenarbeit. Da wir uns in der Endzeit befinden, fallen die zivilisatorischen Pflaster ab und die hässliche Fratze wird immer offener gezeigt, Zwangsarbeit normalisiert.
