Saturday evening, Washington Post columnist @taylorlorenz revealed to Elon Musk, she was writing a story and had questions about his banning of journalists on Twitter. Her account was then immediately banned from Twitter too.
Now, a few hours later her new account on Mastodon has grown to over 100,000 followers, and sadly for Elon Musk, he cannot buy Mastodon as it is financed by it's users.
Tell everyone you know to join Mastodon.

I'm constantly surprised at the number of people who are looking for lists of people to follow. There's no shortage of fascinating breadcrumb trails here.
Pick a toot that resonates with you and open it up. See who commented, or retooted it. Look at those people's profiles. Follow them.
Look at their older toots and follow the people whose comments on those toots pique your interest.

I just dipped into Twitter to read the fantastic news that the Snowdonia National Park Authority has voted to use the original Welsh names Yr Wyddfa #YrWyddfa and #Eryri rather than the imposed English #Snowdon and #Snowdonia. It's a massive win for reclaiming our #Welsh cultural heritage. I honestly can't believe the amount of hatred, abuse and racism in the Twitter comments from English people. I've no idea why they are so angry that another country wants to use its own language. #Cymraeg 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

How about some consideration for those who have not yet migrated? They value their followers and influence. It’s hard to start afresh, even if conditions become insufferable. They are not the enemy. Calling them enablers of a rogue despot is not a winning strategy. They know that. They live it. What they don’t know is that Mastodon is marvelous. It’s easy to use, works well, and can never be possessed. The community is gracious, welcoming and supportive. Let’s show them that.

Sad to hear about #kirstiealley. She showed up very recently in this newsletter, thanks to her cameo in the 'My Name Is Prince' video.

But for me her masterpiece will always be her performance as the psychotic villain in 1999 black comedy Drop Dead Gorgeous.
