Much of my childhood was consumed by attempts to prove I was not feminine. This was needed to ensure my physical safety.

It is easy to find adult men still fighting that same battle today. They are the Republican base.

Hot take: this is why Republicans oppose anti-bullying initiatives in schools. They know that masculine bullying is required to create the next generation of anxiously masculine Republicans.

The Worcester (MA) Public Library will forgive your fines if you bring in a picture of a cat next month. A program they are calling "March Meowness."

While going no-fine is a good goal, not all libraries have that option. This is an excellent outreach project (don't have a cat pic? you can draw one) to try to get people back in the library.

Fave part? You are not eligible for forgiveness if the lost item can be seen as an attempt to restrict access to diverse content.

General reminder for people who live in snowy areas and have personal vehicles.

Clean the snow off your entire vehicle, especially the roof.

On my drive to the dentist this morning I saw three vehicles stopped in the road with their hazard lights on because the snow on their roof had slid down onto their windshield and they could no longer see.

Hard ice and snow can also fly off and hurt pedestrians and damage vehicles, and the soft snow will give the person behind you a mini snow storm.
