Feditext beta users: version 1.7.2 (build 142) fixes the autocomplete bug in the post composer on iOS 18+ (iOS 15–17 are not affected).
it also switches to an account-specific search API method for looking up accounts based on username and display name only. for Mastodon users, this may result in slightly faster autocomplete lookups and fewer false positives. GTS users should not see a difference. please report any issues with other servers.
Feditext beta users: version 1.7.2 (build 141) has no user-facing features.

Feditext beta users: version 1.7.2 (build 140) fixes a JSON decoding issue with Mastodon 4.4 / 4.5 instances that caused error messages when quoted posts are viewed or on a timeline.
this doesn't change how Feditext displays quotes; as with other instance types that already support quote posts, Mastodon quoted posts will be displayed as special links. tapping them will display the whole post. full quote post support is pending.
Feditext beta users: version 1.7.2 (build 139) adds persistent display filters for home/local/federated timelines (upper right corner button). when you hide boosts or replies, they will now stay hidden when you navigate to other timelines or relaunch the app. it also fixes the accessibility label for the filter button.
in other news, our lead dev Vyr is looking for a new, less stressful day job. please wish her well.
@liilliil oh, new error. haven't seen that one yet. please delete and reinstall Feditext (you can reinstall from the TestFlight app) and if the problem persists, open a GitHub issue.

…honestly, right now, i'm having trouble looking at the GitHub issue tracker without wincing.
if you're involved with Fedi and experienced with iOS dev (incl. UIKit, SwiftUI, Combine, GRDB) and have ideally shipped an app or two already, there are a lot of new or existing features to implement (GTS and Mastodon both) and more than a few bugs that need work. let's talk.

…lastly, thanks for your patience. this year has been way too much. i've had almost no time to work on new Feditext features for, well, two beta expirations now, or six months. but i still use it daily and don't particularly want to stop.
i think it's maybe time for me to ask for help…
update: build 136 is in progress. hopefully it'll be on TestFlight in the next twenty minutes. thanks to Brian for his continued support.
i'm working on the paperwork for deployment thru the App Store proper, but don't expect any updates on that for a few weeks, it's A Whole Thing or we'd have done it already…

Feditext + GTS users: updating to GTS 0.18.0-rc2 includes the patch that makes push notifications work for iOS clients like Feditext and is recommended for all GTS users. you don't need to update Feditext if you already have build 130.
@underwood agreed, it's not my favorite Metatext design decision. i'm actually not a fan of floating buttons in general since that's an Android-ism. the small good news is that there should be an issue open for revising it already.
