@liilliil oh, new error. haven't seen that one yet. please delete and reinstall Feditext (you can reinstall from the TestFlight app) and if the problem persists, open a GitHub issue.
iOS and iPadOS client for Mastodon, Glitch, GotoSocial, Akkoma, Iceshrimp, and more! Maintained by Vyr @vyr and Brian @bdube@gotgoat.com.
Please see this account's pinned post to join the TestFlight beta program, as we're not yet in the App Store. You do not need to DM us.
Feditext is a community continuation of @metabolist's incredible work on Metatext, which is no longer in development.

confirmed working on 26 as well.
@callme_jc build 137 does
@Ciela i promise you that you are not the first person to think of this. doing so safely and privately requires a nontrivial amount of paperwork.

…honestly, right now, i'm having trouble looking at the GitHub issue tracker without wincing.
if you're involved with Fedi and experienced with iOS dev (incl. UIKit, SwiftUI, Combine, GRDB) and have ideally shipped an app or two already, there are a lot of new or existing features to implement (GTS and Mastodon both) and more than a few bugs that need work. let's talk.

…lastly, thanks for your patience. this year has been way too much. i've had almost no time to work on new Feditext features for, well, two beta expirations now, or six months. but i still use it daily and don't particularly want to stop.
i think it's maybe time for me to ask for help…
update: build 136 is in progress. hopefully it'll be on TestFlight in the next twenty minutes. thanks to Brian for his continued support.
i'm working on the paperwork for deployment thru the App Store proper, but don't expect any updates on that for a few weeks, it's A Whole Thing or we'd have done it already…
Feditext beta users: the TestFlight build expired this morning. i'll push a fresh one ASAP but i'm at work so it might be an hour or two.

@isadora please see our pinned post for instructions how to enroll in our TestFlight beta program. it only takes a minute.
Hello hello here's the second release candidate for #GoToSocial v0.18.0, we fixed a bunch of stuff that was dodgy in the first one!
https://github.com/superseriousbusiness/gotosocial/releases/tag/v0.18.0-rc2
Thanks! Enjoy! Weeeee!
Feditext + GTS users: updating to GTS 0.18.0-rc2 includes the patch that makes push notifications work for iOS clients like Feditext and is recommended for all GTS users. you don't need to update Feditext if you already have build 130.
@underwood agreed, it's not my favorite Metatext design decision. i'm actually not a fan of floating buttons in general since that's an Android-ism. the small good news is that there should be an issue open for revising it already.

@juergen aside from applying that patch, you may indeed need to log out and back in.
@mirabilos that didn't change in this release; perhaps you were stuck on an old one? but i'm glad it's working
there are three ways to turn push notifications off if you don't want them:
1. turn off notifications at the app level in iOS app settings for Feditext
2. in Feditext, go to Preferences → Push Notifications → turn off all of the notification types
3. in Feditext, go to Preferences → Push Notifications → set "Receive push notifications from:" to "No one"
2 and 3 are per-account settings, so keep that in mind if you use Feditext with multiple accounts.
Feditext beta users: today's version 1.7.2 build 130 adds support for push notifications from GoToSocial instances.
you will need to be running a development version of GTS 0.18 with this patch applied <https://github.com/superseriousbusiness/gotosocial/pull/3762>, or wait for the *next* release candidate (0.18.0rc1 doesn't have it) or the 0.18.0 release proper.
users of other instance servers don't need to update.
@AllysonShaw @futurebird you need to upgrade to Feditext (see our pinned post). it was one of the first features i added to the old Metatext codebase.
@ernmander Feditext is the continuation of the Metatext project and can still do that (though it's in the instance Explore tab now)
