Thin Crust Tavern Cut

I fish. A lot. (St. Croix rods) I photograph. A lot (Nikon). Grew up on the Northwest side of Chicago. Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks fan. University of Oregon alum. Retired architect. Occasionally successful keeping this timeline low on politics.

@mk30 Very forward thinking many years ago to surround the city with protected land.

Calling all Photographers. I need a new backpack. My PD 30L is fine, but I want to be able to stow a mounted Lens/body combo that is about 19" in length. I have been looking at the F-Stop Tilopa or the MindShift Gear FirstLight 40L anybody have recommendations? #camera #gear #backpack #photgraphy

Modern buildings with sunlight reflecting off of them. Brilliant blue sky with white clouds scattered.

Went fishing with the kids for the first time 🎣 Also my first time in many years, but I found my old rod and lures and we’ll definitely go more times this summer. #fishing #jaktogfiske

Since tacos are in the news, here's a reminder that:

Tacocat
spelled backwards is tacocat.

@canleaf @BrianJopek I'm married to a D.I.D. In my opinion those you listed as D.ID are your ordinary assholes.

@Aviation_Librarian I though 10's were cool planes but the crash at ORD took care of that.

@johnefrancis Someone should be flogged for putting the the wellhead where it would be under concrete. How is that legal?

You spend a lot of time in a fisherman's trance, which is a comfortable enough place to be. Fishing is one of the few places I know of to let go of the past, forget about the future, and live in the moment. And living in the moment is the only way I know of to accurately understand life without getting pissed off.

Darby Creek, PA

Fly fishing and beer don’t quite mix, but this pebble beach in the middle of the creek feels like the perfect spot for it 🤔 I still don’t know how to mix them, though 🤔

A creek flows through the woods, splitting into two branches around a small island at its center. The island, covered in gravel and pebbles, sits quietly in the middle of the flowing stream.

The deal on Spring Creek is that it's strictly catch and release, not so much to preserve the fishery - although that's the effect - but because the water is so polluted with chemicals like Mynex and Kepone that eating a fish could either give you cancer or cause brain damage. I forgot which
