Don’t use Mastodon for private information, it’s a community sharing platform.
- Toots are stored unencrypted incl. DM’s.
- Toots are stored on a server you do not control (same as twitter)
- Toots are synced to all servers where your messages and boosts of your messages are followed.
- DM Toots are stored on your community server and on the server of your addressee.
- DM Toots can be shared (by accident) by the addressee.

Tuesday update on the #mastodon growth. 135k (!!) users join yesterday. Also, I'm zooming out the plot to see the evolution in the number of new users through the last year. I'm going to need a logarithm scale pretty soon 😎

@sanicmoom Because of that reason some streamers have gone over to anonymous follows, where they just simply say "thank you" without any name dropping or major hype.

Personally as a viewer I bounce back and forth between wanting all the attention or none of it. 😆

@RadleySlayz I actually checked it out and would like to use it, buuuut following their channel requires phone verification with Twitch - and so far I've still avoided that. 🥴
