Yes, voting is compulsory, or rather attending a polling place, having your name crossed off a list, being handed your ballot and directed to a booth. After that you're free to mark the ballot as you wish. Then you fold it and pop it into the ballot box.
Failure to vote can mean a $A25 fine.
Voting is always on a Saturday from 8 to 8. There are early voting centres in every municipality too and if you're out of your locality you can vote provisionally.

This morning I discovered that somebody had pulled out our Harris/Walz yard signs, making off with one and leaving the other lying in our yard. Living in Florida, I had honestly expected more of this. Maybe this means they’re panicking.

Well guess what? Danielle designed the signs herself and had a big batch printed. We. Have. Extras.

@heidilifeldman I have made donations done phone banking. Written hundreds of postcards. Did poll greeting in the primary and will at early voting. Yesterday I stapled election and information to door hangers for canvassing.

The "SAVE ACT" law would require women citizens lacking a passport or other proof of citizenship with their married names, to produce both a birth certificate (with the seal of the state where -issued; no copies allowed) & a current form of ID—both with the exact same name on them.

That could instantly disqualify about 90% of all married #women w/o passports or other proof that matches their birth certificates or proof of a legal name chg.
