@tankingmage The first Mastodon server I had an account on suddenly ceased working. I luckily had made backups of everything on the "Exports" page a couple days earlier, so I was able to recover my Follow list from that on my new account.

For follows, you can go into settings->Import and Export on your old account and export your Follows list (among other things). Then on the new account import that file and you'll get all your Follows.

For followers, at the bottom of Settings -> Profile are links for "move from a different account" and "move to a different account". The two combined will migrate your followers to your new account cleanly. I think the old account is deactivated too.

Posts can't migrate though.

@tankingmage That makes a huge difference, the only reason I've stayed where I am for so long is the team I work with and boss.

@tankingmage Ugh that sounds like hell! I have to do self-eval and goals once a year and I still never know what to say. If I had to do it every month I'd either be monologuing like a villain or cut and pasting the url to Everything Is Awesome in there every time.

@KinkyLotus Ah, I totally get that. There's occasions where inventory economy is interesting, but mostly I just want to loot goblin and pick up EVERYTHING. And fetch quests are why I stopped most MMOs.

I love No Man's Sky but that's one thing I dislike. Gotta work on expanding storage/upgrade slots on your character AND weapon/tool AND ship AND freighter AND bases. I'm always fighting storage and not playing/exploring.

I have The Long Dark but haven't tried it yet, it looks gorgeous!

@KinkyLotus I just saw I didn't complete a thought there: "for newer games I've turned to when I wanted to just game a little". Those three for me are low stress and I just roll with what randomly pops up instead of hours of building and planning and grinding.

@KinkyLotus "Modern" by those terms would definitely be Factorio, I have a bit more than 1,100 hours in.

You mentioned in a comment about more recent games feeling more like work, so for newer games I've turned to there's been Peglin, Luck Be A Landlord, and Nova Drift, and SNKRX.

I think I might actually have more time in Minecraft than anything, but thankfully it doesn't keep track. I tend towards very engineery mod packs so that might count as "work as game" LOL 😀

It's been a wince since I coded for fun outside of Raspberry Pi stuff. Saw some videos about Godot and think it's a good way to get coding again, so I jumped in :D

I have some game idea notes I've jotted down, so I'm working on some simple prototypes testing some of those ideas and see what they look like outside of magical all-ideas-work-awesome dreamland in my head :D Seems like a good way to learn the dev environment and GDscript in smaller bursts too.

Started today off with a solid Nova Drift round, getting over 1M points for the first time! Stealthy no weapon build relying on damaging shields and burn damage to take down enemies, which I had a lot of fun with!
