It's very hard to say no to 1000+ in tips a night for the easiest serving job I've ever had because it would be very simple. Mostly just drinks.

I've taken a bit of a break because #politics was pissing me off and causing me to hyper focus and get absolutely nothing else done, as well as to brainstorm other ideas.

Whose the biggest loser you've ever actually met?

A guy named Eric, in my case.

He thought he was a badass, and I met him at a #homeless shelter. He told stories about winning fights with 4 people at once, while doing nothing but eating, smoking weed, and abusing his girlfriend all day.

Never saw him move faster than the speed of smell.

Looked like a younger, uglier George Lucas, and was fatter.

He also manipulated stuff out of homeless people, and sold drugs to them for a living.

I'd imagine there aren't that many men who want to do the job anyway, so it probably wouldn't even be a hard job to get.

I have a job interview at a male strip club.

Not as one of the dancers, but as one of the servers.

Which still involves wearing almost nothing, which actually doesn't bother me much, and I was hesitant to the idea at first until the manager said "yea, you're in LA, you'll make like 1500 a night," which is 50% more than I make a MONTH right now.

Also was quite flattering that they thought I was handsome enough to work at a male strip club.

I dunno what to do with myself.

I actually looked in the mirror for once with my shirt off and thought "holy shit I'm actually hot now!" and that was the first time I actually said that and was being serious.

The group home I stay at has a weight set so I decided to start using them since they were there, and I was considering #weightlifting anyway as I've hit a bit of a plateau with the #calisthenics I was doing.

That was about a month and a half ago or so, and I've been doing sets every day and slowly getting stronger.

I just realized all my short sleeve shirts are getting tighter in the chest and arms too.

I'm okay with that.

@melanie Restaurant culture never changes much because it's a job where you can make a lot of money, and all you need is a bit of charisma, a bit of attention to detail, and an ability to multitask.

So it attracts a lot of people who have a lot of problems to pay for, who don't have the discipline to get a degree.

Then they meet a bunch of people who ALSO have a lot of problems to pay for.

I am trying to stay away from it, but may go be a host/busser until I can find something better.

@BlippyTheWonderSlug I do want to get more instruments. I play some guitar, though I was never great at it.

I was thinking a Cello. I've always wanted to learn and it's my favorite sounding instrument. Also the lowest note I can comfortably sing is the same as the lowest Cello note too so my OCD likes that xD

I also play piano so that's also another super expensive instrument. Decent keyboard is quite pricey.

@bardmoss Sam Fernando Valley seems really nice from the few times I went that way. Used to walk around North Hollywood and Burbank occasionally to get away from the Insanity that is the LA area south of that.

Plus Sylmar is right up by the hills and there are a bunch of hiking trails I want to hit!

...Also being homeless was disgusting because people who stay in shelters are NASTY and I've seen everything and I'm basically immune to it.

That's kinda what got me thinking about it "huh, I have a stomach of steel after all that shit... I should be a nurse!".

@melanie I made 18 an hour base, and then it was an extremely busy restaurant in the Seattle area.

I'd have been fine with just the 18 an hour. Then I became a waiter after a couple years and averaged about 400 bucks in tips a night. Got all my credit card tips at the beginning of my next work day in cash.

So it really didn't matter how badly I spent my money, I ALWAYS had more coming soon.

So it just slipped through my fingers as fast as I made it.

@Caiotekit Rent can be really high.

Luckily the place I am going to next isn't so expensive. It's an individual room in a larger interim housing type situation, and I am single, and extremely minimalist so I don't need much for now.

Perfect place to save money for a while.

I can also get funding from the state to go be a nurse or something as they're badly needed, so I have been thinking about that too!

@melanie Yea I was also like 19 when I got into that field, and even as a host/busser I was making like 65 grand a year which was A LOT MORE around 2013.

Turns out giving 65 grand a year to a traumatized 19 year old is A REALLY BAD CALL.

Also the housing market in its current form isn't sustainable, and they'll have to start lowering prices eventually as most can't afford them.

I was thinking of saving money until that actually happens.

Then I can just outright buy one!

@melanie Yea, turns out an extremely high stress, high paying job combined with a party culture inside that job is a really good way to get people addicted to drugs!

I literally bought drugs from the dishwasher.

So did the manager.

Half the staff was an alcoholic and used #wine or #cocktail culture as an excuse.

It was a mess.

It's kind of insane to me how little #money I need to survive now that I have gotten rid of most of my #addiction issues.

I can get by on about 1000 a month now, paid to me by #disability until I find a job.

I was addicted to #food and #drugs and there was a time where I was a functional drug addict, and worked in fine dining making a TON, and was spending money as fast as I made it.

I dunno what to do with the money I'll earn in the future.

That's a good thing.

I am moving on Wednesday!

Finally out of the middle of #losangeles where I am currently located.

I am only a few miles south of Hollywood so it's way too busy, and crammed with people for me.

Crowds and traffic tend to stress me out so moving to Sylmar will be a welcome Change, which is North of Burbank & North Hollywood.

Much less crowded!

I'll be sad to go as the staff at this group home has been kind to me, and helped me heal from one of the worst years of my life.

#scams piss me off.

Because usually it's the most vulnerable people who fall for them.

I just spent two hours trying to convince a guy at my group home that his "girlfriend" was actually a scammer.

1. They were in a different country and had never actually wanted to speak on the phone or do a video call.

2. They constantly asked for all his money.

3. They would become extremely manipulative if he refused.

He is autistic and has taken out LOANS and is now also heartbroken.
