After dinner, we continued to #Marienplatz, where the Christmas tree is still covered in lights. Enjoying #Munich so far.

Thanks very much!
Protest monument in Budapest
We came across this informally constructed Holocaust memorial by Liberty Square. It was assembled by Hungarian citizens angered by the Orban government's attempt to rewrite history with its Memorial for Victims of the German Occupation. The government monument's message is seen by some as portraying Hungary solely as a victim of Nazi Germany, ignoring its complicity for the Holocaust.
As Americans, we are seeing a Federal government bent on suppressing history.
Well, that was an interesting experiment. Put the same post on Bluesky and Mastodon. Not responses initially on either. Complained about it on Bluesky and someone decided to repost and prompt people. Got some great responses. Don't think I'll bother with Mastodon any more.
What are the coolest things/places to see and do in London?
I enjoyed the Portobello Road Market on a recent trip. Where else should I go?

Question for people familiar with #Morocco #train travel:
The #ONCF website is garbage. I cannot book my ticket there. Should I just wait until I get to #Marrakech to buy a ticket at the train station? Trying to get to #Tangier. Worried that the first class tickets could sell out.
@larand That is an awesome watch and a great picture. I didn't know Islander made a GMT.
I notice you posted on Pixelfed and it ended up in my Mastodon feed. How does that happen?
@watchesinnature I like these photos. Can you say a bit about the watch?
I'm also new to Mastodon. Also trying Bluesky, Pixelfed and Friendica. So far, underwhelmed by the experiences on all of them. Will give it a bit longer and try to curate my feed.
@futurebird
I add hashtags all the time but it's very depressing when I search for one and the only one using any of them is me, no matter how generic I try to make them 😭 mastodon has its benefits over mainstream social media, but searchability/finding other people with similar interests to interact with is a massive flaw. I get the original intent of "protection of small, marginalized communities from having to deal with exposure to people who might wish them ill intent," but I'd love it if mastodon had opt-in capabilities for those of us who DO want to connect with new people.
@Moss
If you have been thinking "the fediverse is too ---" There are too many people posting about --- and not enough ----." Remember that pruning and planting your feed is your responsibility. Adjust who you follow. Add more hash tags about important topics such as #ants
There isn't any program spying on what you stare at longer trying to hack your brain keep you scrolling for as long as possible.
There have been a lot of new people. You could be missing fun posts and looking at boring ones.
@futurebird You make a good point. I should do better at curating my feed. I'm just finding it very difficult right now to find people posting on topics that interest me. At the moment, it seems like most posts are about Trump and the mess he's making of America. While this concerns me, I also need to escape from it once in a while!

Sort of like saying GoogleMaps worked well until we tried to find the Gulf of Mexico?
