If anyone is free/has spare time over lunch tomorrow (13 June) and would like to support RMIT staff in our efforts for fair working conditions, there's a rally tomorrow outside of RMIT Building 1 on LaTrobe St in the city at 12:30.

Following the rally staff will again be on strike.

Please boost - would be great to see a supportive crowd there!

1,427 years ago today. St Columba died in the monastery he had built on the island of Iona on 9 June 597. It would subsequently become one of the most important in Europe. More about St Columba: undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/usb More about Iona Abbey today: undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/ion

Iona Abbey. The image shows an abbey with sea in the background. The abbey church is seen end-on on the right and other buildings are to its left. There is mown grass with paths in the foreground and an outcrop of rock on the lower left of the frame. The scene is in sunlight.

📣 Calling all historians interested in using digital tools and methods in their research – the Australian Historical Association's Annual Conference this year will include a #digitalHistory stream! Even better, the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) is sponsoring up to 4 bursaries for HDR students and ECR staff participating in the stream. Proposals are due on 23 February, so there's not much time. Ask me if you have any questions. Hope to see you there! ardc.edu.au/wp-content/uploads #ozHist #digitalHumanities #histodons @histodons

#Swiftposium2024 @unimelb was incredible! Academics from so many disciplines interrogating a monumental cultural phenomenon - what more could you want?!

(My paper was 'Masters and manuscripts: complexities of authorship and ownership explored through Swift’s record label dispute and pre-printing publication practices' - sometimes a new lens gives a new lease of life to an old question...)
