It isn’t just the tariffs that is killing the US economy (that’s the immediate catalyst), it is everything the Mango Menace and his minions are doing: cutting benefits, destroying the govt, breaking alliances, tax cuts for the rich, sending immigrants to concentration camps etc. etc. All of this means that the “greatest consumer market” in the world is going to be hobbled, at best (I’m not an optimist, I think it’s going to utterly collapse).

I agree. Actually I think it is now collapsing. Ports are quiet because businesses can't afford to buy what customers can't afford to purchase. Even if tariffs are lifted, it will take weeks to fill new orders, perhaps months to fill store shelves meanwhile small businesses fail and won't restart.
The US admin wants American made, but it will take many years to construct and operate new factories.
USians lose everything, suffer and die but the wealthiest will win in the end.

A point I hadn't considered. Quite plausible. It's still because of tariffs and unemployed people will go bankrupt and perhaps end up at the food bank.

I don't like the over-sized vehicles either. (I was ranting about them the other day IRL) . I think we need to switch over to public transportation and smaller vehicles but not this abruptly. We also need to break away from US-Can contracts...the US is no longer a reliable partner.

🤔 in Canada, we have hate speech laws why not apply them to political parties ? Promote hate and division whoosh...you are out!
