Two trees in the center, between them a stone house, behind, mountains, and below, green grass.

It will be interesting to see what responses we get at our exhibition today. All Souls is an incredible Italianate church made from grey brick and concrete.
Will post some pics of the place, as well as some of the art of other exhibitors. Hopefully we will get some new members to add to the community as well.

@art I know people say avoid Payne’s grey but it is useful. But for blacks I love using a mix up of ultramarine and Burnt umber. Produces some rich deep browns and dark place through to dark blue shadows.
A mate of mine loves Daniel Smith colours. Swears by them. Myself I can’t get on with Winsor and Newton. The colours seem “false” to me especially Winsor Blue.
One colour I do find
useful is Hookers green. Dire on its own but makes some stunning colours when mixed

I’m trying to work with a limited palette atm. Dealer Rowney tube paint
Ultramarine blue, Burnt Umber, raw sienna, burnt sienna, Payne’s grey. Light red is another lovely colour, but it can be intense. Makes a lovey cool grey with cobalt blue.

I like using raw sienna and burnt sienna in Autumn paintings. Love dropping the darker tones into the lighter ones whislst still wet to get a fade through. The buildings really draw you into the scene

Did a couple like this last night. This was the one I liked best. Aiming for a rainy sky and misty tree.
