FACES. We all have them. They fascinate me. Expressions in particular - from subtle to extreme.

OLD PAPER. These too share qualities of human expression. From long ago handwritten notes, aged newspapers and maps to worn paper stained with time. In this series of prints, I combine them to create whimsical "stories" about the nature of being human.

Welcome to my new interview series. I am the official human spokesperson for the Guardian Monster Guild, editor of the "Monster Times & Review" and author of the glamorous tell-all book, "What Monsters Want". These are hard-won credentials that I have worked tirelessly to obtain. As an ordinary human being, entering the realm of Monsterdom requires a rigorous determination, and an ego that can survive all manner of taunts, threats and indignation. I have endured countless nips, pokes and licks from numerous monsters whose intent, it seems, was to provoke me into giving up. I have proved them wrong! Il change tous les jours ! Surtout en ce moment avec le beau temps, autant en profiter et c'est justement tout l'avantage du crochet. Mon crochet et mes trousses me suivent partout, on n'oublie pas les carnets pour prendre des notes et hop dans le sac à dos et c'est parti pour une balade crochetesque au bord de l'eau.
Je vous éviterai la photo de mes pieds dans l'eau ! 🤣
Mais dans tous les cas, tant que j’ai mon crochet, mes trousses et un petit coin de table, tout roule !

AmiguruMay day 2: where do I crochet? That's an easy but boring answer: only at my desk! 😆 I have two desks, one with my desktop pc where I do almost all of my work, and a smaller one with lamps where I can take pictures for my crochet patterns. I keep every project in progress in its own basket and move the baskets between the two places when needed.

And who's that big polar bear? He's way too tall to fit anywhere, so for now he keeps me company on the floor at my desk. 😂

I don't really crochet anywhere else, because it's a little difficult for my joints (I'm hypermobile). For me it's easiest to have an ergonomic set-up at my desk and to just stick to that. It's not really an aesthetically pleasing place, so this vague picture is all you're going to get, hehe 😜
