@jcarlson I am doing everything locally from my gdb. Heavens
@jcarlson Eventually, Ill have about 10 maps made for this incident.
ArcGIS Pro keeps crashing, I wonder if it has something to do with the number of maps I am trying to make In one project. #gischat
All my GIS colleagues at the state are making digital maps online.. I am still making PDF maps... Oh Emergency Management Life.
Is it just me or the sizes ( Letter, Legal etc) different in adobe Illustrator Vs ArcGIS Pro... I swear these are different... I make a legal size map in ArcPro and then bring it into Adobe Illustrator and have significantly more room in the artboard... maybe I just don't understand Illustrator... #GISChat
The missing #submersible invokes a strange irony.
A monument to opulence and hubris named ‘#Titanic’ meets a watery reckoning.

While browsing the bookstore i came across: The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren ( It has a data scientist as the main character!!) -- I am currently reading Lessons in Chemistry; and i have to say I LOVE the intersection of Science with Romance. Its wonderful to see scientists falling in love!
If I save my ArcGIS Pro Map Layout as an AIX file.. but saved my pervious work as an AI file... I can't open the AIX file in a new artboard on the AI file.... This doesn't make sense to me... #GISChat
#GISChat Hello from Denver where I am trying to look for inspiration for making maps of shelters ( see image ) and listening to 90's alterative rock
Currently Playing: "Longview" - Green Day
@jcarlson The map is for Emergency managers to provide reference information related to shelter and hotel locations. I have an overview map to provide a bird's eyeview as it were. Now I am working on the counties for the region of the over view map so I can add labels etc i have the maps I am just trying to get all the pieces to fit in an appealing manner.
For me, this is part of my process... I hate the layout...and then I rebuild the whole thing till I like it.
Making a map and really struggling with the layout and overall design concept. #GISChat
Listening to Data Viz Today Ep. 86: How to Find a Balance Between Clarity and Creativity.
It's an interesting podcast.
@Brett_E_Carlock @CoasterDean yeah, these are good points. This is a very helpful. I'll have to give this some thought. On the surface, I think the answer is yes I have all three areas covered... But maybe not.
@CoasterDean @Brett_E_Carlock that's a really great idea! Thank you for that.
@CoasterDean @Brett_E_Carlock yup I am a big fan of Python.. I'd like to take the plunge and get into ML
@CoasterDean @Brett_E_Carlock I have been thinking about taking the GISP certification. I am struggling to justify it to my employer who would pay for it and give me time to study, if I could articulate why it would be beneficial to them. But I can do what they need right now without it.. so * Shrug*
Dear Google, we need to talk about a dark theme for.. all of your products but specifically Calendar and Drive.
@Brett_E_Carlock @CoasterDean these are really good questions that need to be apart of my reflection. Thank you. I'll give these some thought and share my answers when I have them.
@CoasterDean I am trying to see where I should go next in my career. I think I am gonna write out all of my skills and see where I am with each of them ( beg, intermediate advanced)
My issue is I am all over the place with the skills I want to build and need help really focusing on what I need to do first, to ensure I don't feel overwhelmed with all of the skills that I could acquire.
That wasn't a question... Sorry.
