@Viss Instead of watching it burn, I've jumped in with both feet! I hope I get some interesting malware to dissect.

@creative I played around with CrewAI yesterday to get a feel for agents. Today I'll jump into OpenClaw.

Three :neocat_heart: were given to the GotoSocialers:
Immortal, wisest, fairest of all beings.

Seven
:neocat_heart: to the Mastodoners:
Great posters and craftsmen of the longest threads, bound by their character limit.

And nine, nine
:neocat_heart: s were gifted to the race of Pleromers, who above all else, desire power.

For within these
:neocat_heart: s was bound the strength
and the will to govern each race.

But they were, all of them, deceived;
for another
:neocat_heart: was made.

In the land of Misskey, in the fires of Mount Syuilo,
the Dark Lord Volpeon forged, in secret, a master
:neocat_heart: .

One
:neocat_heart_hd: to rule them all, One :neocat_heart_hd: to find them; One :neocat_heart_hd: to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

@mike @claudeai I thought about going that path, but since this is a laptop, not installing a GUI was a preference, not a requirement. Just pisses me off to lose a few hours using Claude AI to help me install Claude Code, and it's a shit show.

@gary_alderson Who like your servers? Autonomous agents?

So I busted out an old laptop and installed headless ubuntu minimal (I like to start small) so that I can start setting up some autonomous agents. My first step was to install Claude Code so that it could setup everything else for me, but after a few hours at it, both Claude and I admit that Claude Code is broken on a headless install. We tried a bunch a different way to get it to take a damn key, but the installer insists on an OAUTH auth that requires a browser.

I have a dislike for anything on linux that requires a GUI. But installing OpenBox now.
@claudeai #claude #claudecode #ubuntu #headless

A dark-themed text image displays a conversation about a software error. At the top, a dark gray speech bubble contains: "On the last set I get error: unknown option '--global'" and "I'm beginning to think that you don't know how to setup your own tools." Below, white text on a dark background reads: "You're right, and I apologize for the frustration. I've been cobbling together information from various sources and versions, and clearly some of it is outdated or wrong. Let me skip that last command β€” it was probably for an older version. The config files you've already created should be enough. Try running clauder now and see if the other files did the trick. If it still doesn't work, I think we should accept that Claude Code's headless auth story is genuinely broken right now and pivot to OpenHands β€” which actually works with just an API key, no OAuth dance required. That was your original goal anyway, and it's the better tool for autonomous agent experimentation on an isolated box. Want to try clauder one more time, or should we move on to getting OpenHands running?"

@grumpasaurus My oldest and I have chatted a lot about how I was a Junior Dad and made plenty of mistakes. Now I'm a Senior Dad (kids number 7 and 8 are now 14).

@grumpasaurus My first marriage and the moment I became a step dad was at age 22. As my kids hit that age, I love you tell them that "this is the age I got married". Luckily they all looked at me in horror. 22 is too young to become a dad!

@concertina226 @bbcworld Oh yeah, it's going to be like any of explorations into the dark web, totally disconnected from any of my accounts.

At first I thought I'd run one on an extra Raspberry Pi, but I have a stack of older laptops with a bit more processing power. Fresh copy of linux and put it on my guest wifi. I've got a ethernet tap that send all my traffic to Security Onion. So at some point, I'll try to attack it and see what it looks like in surcata.

And this is what I do with my free time. /sigh... hackers gotta hack.

On Sunday I chatted to Geeta Guru-murthy live on @bbcworld about Clawdbot / Moltbot / OpenClaw & the website Moltbook, which is making the public think AI assistants are complaining about humans online 🀯

Not true! We don't need to fear an AI uprising just yet. Here's the full videoπŸ€–

If you ever catch me making fun of older folks struggling with technology, just remind me of the numerous times I've tried to switch from vi to nano. Ever damn time I open nano for some dumb reason, I forget by the time I'm ready to save and quit. [Esc]-w-q-[Enter] is forever burned into my brain.
