Hi von Köln nach Berlin 😊.
Na wenigstens bin ich damit nicht allein, das ist ja auch schon mal gut zu wissen.
Und ja, seit dem letzten Update von Admin Tools nutze ich den Scheduler nun auch.
Vorher hatte die Funktion einen kleinen Bug, den Nicholas nun behoben hat. Daher nutze ich es erst jetzt.
Ich bin trotzdem der Meinung, soetwas sollte nativ in Joomla eingebaut sein, da es aus meiner Sicht zum absoluten Core gehört und auch noch sicherheitsrelevant ist.

I´m using the tools for cleaning the tmp directory from #Akeeba #Admintools now.
You can find them in the backend of Admin Tools in the "Tools" section.
There is one button for manual cleaning and below there is a button for the scheduler.
This should keep the tmp directory clean in the future.

So lange Affinity nicht direkt oder mit reibungslosen Workarounds auf Linux läuft, werde ich nicht wechseln können.

An die #Affinity #Grafikdesign|er :
Ist jemand komplett auf #Linux umgestiegen und kann von seinen Erfahrungen berichten? Welche Probleme gab es zu lösen?
Ich würde gern von #Windows weg, aber scheue eventuelle Einschränkungen, die mir drohen könnten.
Es sollte schon alles einigermaßen flüssig laufen, denn ich muss ja mein täglich Brot verdienen 😊

Don´t get me wrong, I didn´t want to blame Nicolas for it. I´m just searching for a reason why this happens to all of my sites. I´ll ask a few friends about their content of their tmp directory and see if I am totally alone. Then I´ll dig deeper.

@joomla As said, also the sites that were installed manually have the same update files left in tmp directory.
What I do with all sites is triggering the updates by Panopticon. Can this cause the files not to be deleted after updates?

@joomla Hello. Mostly they were installed by a software installer at my webhoster, but even the manually installed sites look the same in the tmp directory.
I looked deeper into 10 of my about 25 sites: nearly all of them still have the Joomla 5.x update installation files in the tmp directory. They shouldn´t still be there, right?
But I also have one site that is still on 4.x and there are also 4.x update installation files...

2/2 And if these files can become a security issue after a while, wouldn´t it be great to have a native card in #Joomla backend saying "Hey, you have some pretty old files in your tmp directory. They are older than a week. Click here to delete them now"

#Joomla has a temporary directory where third party extensions are stored for installation purposes. These files should be deleted right after the installation process. However, sometimes the deletion does not work for reasons. I found a lot of files in the tmp directories in many sites. I never cared about this until today. But afaik they can be a security issue.
So my question to the bubble is: how do you manage the tmp files? Delete manually? Use a Plugin (recommendations?)?

Ich bin schon Jahre auf Mastodon unterwegs, allerdings privat.
Um mich nun auch speziell aus dem Bereich meiner Tätigkeit auszutauschen, habe ich ein Unternehmensprofil angelegt.
Als #Werbeagentur ist es schon schwer, seinen Kunden zu erklären, dass man selbst nicht auf #Instagram und #Facebook aktiv ist und noch nicht einmal #Whatsapp hat. Aber bei mir ist es schon einige Jahre so und ich habe es beruflich überlebt. Also: Jetzt mit voller Kraft ins Fediverse! 💪
