Försökte mig på att illustrera några domherrar och blev faktiskt ganska nöjd. Oftast jag ser dem är faktiskt sittandes på tvättlinor i mammas trädgård :D

#affinity Designer #Bug ?
Can someone please check this:
Open a new Designer file and draw a square in 100 x 100 mm.
Copy the square.
Open a new file by using “New from clipboard”.
In my case the units are in Pixels at that time. If I change the units to “mm”, the square now is 312,5 x 312,5 mm.
This is very very dangerous as I didn´t expect an unwanted change of the element size.
Can someone confirm this behaviour?

Adobe hat jetzt ein #Lightroom Abo im Angebot, beide Lightroom Versionen nur ohne #Photoshop. Für knapp 15€ im Monat, damit kann ich leben. Dann kaufe mir #Affinity Photo einmalig für 80€ dazu und fertig. Nutze Photoshop sowieso kaum.

Yesterday’s volunteer workday was tough. The Wet Bulb Globe Temp Risk hit 91 - extreme, so we old geezers make the safe choice and quit earlier than normal. Hopefully, as patterns change, the humidity will drop, and winds will pick up a bit. Had to resort to the cold neckerchief and filling the hat with cold water to stay safe.

On a Vireo kick, so here is a White-eyed Vireo that came down to correct my whistling and sing for me. Such wonderful birds. An older photo processed in Affinity on Mac.

Their software sucks and crashes all the time and their subscriptions are like being held hostage.

I like Affinity. They're really good, not rude to women and one purchase, no subscription.

I’m happy to have mostly moved entirely from #Adobe to #Affinity for work, but I still use them from time to time and they just reek of #enshittification. Today’s gripe is with Adobe adding nagging blue highlights to features they want you to use because it helps market their tools. Who wants this?

I'm stewing an idea for an essay called "Software from the End of the Human Centipede"; the basic premise is #Software made by people who've only ever used software to do tasks. I'm probably going to centre it around the #Affinity suite, and how it, in trying to do things differently from #Adobe's products, failed to understand how much of the logic of Adobe's apps was based around digitising physical work processes, and how much the physical informs the resultant methodology and #UI.

När jag illustrerat dessa svenska fåglar (36 arter gjorda!) så är det väldigt roligt att få till en miljö som också känns lite typisk svensk. Denna gång försökte jag mig på vitkindade gäss i Stockholms skärgård :D ganska nöjd faktiskt

This effect is new to me, done on a grey rectangle (about 50 iterations) in Affinity Photo.

Adding noise makes the effect quicker? And easier to do than simulating Turing-style diffusion, say.
