The Great #MAGA #Job #Scam: How Trump is Plotting the New #American #Sweatshops
They say they’re “bringing back jobs,” but what they really want is a desperate, powerless workforce with no healthcare, no unions, and no future — just the way Wall Street likes it…

Folks, after a nice 10 mile bike ride I'm settling in with a sandwich and two movies.
First up, Live Freaky! Die Freaky! (2006), a stop-motion animated post-apocalyptic musical directed by John Roecker. I don't know what this is but it has a lot of famous voice actors.

After that, it's Othello (2001), a TV movie via Masterpiece Theatre, directed by Geoffrey Sax, starring Eamonn Walker and Christopher Eccleston.

Watch John Oliver lay into #Trump for lawless deportations https://www.dailykos.com/story/2025/5/5/2320637/-John-Oliver-takes-down-Trump-s-inhumane-deportation-war-on-America?pm_campaign=blog&pm_medium=rss&pm_source=
@gwynnion The fandoms for both seem pretty strong to me, based on what I read on Tumblr. If there are criticisms of any particular doctor, they seem to me to be outside of fandom. Or fans just have "their" doctor and that should be the end of it.

Even if people from Mexico don't celebrate Cinco de Mayo, I've always been a fan of everything and everyone Mexican and try to give voice to that here and there. Viva Mexico!
The 60 Minutes piece tonight totally took it easy on Drumph, and didn't show him at his worst. And they underplayed the threat.
So it's clear the threat that spurred the changes that led their former head to resign, and got Scott Pelley to say what he said last week, have compromised the approach that 60 Minutes is going to take with Drumph stories going forward.
That means that those of us who may still be watching corporate media are going to have to up their skills, or get some help from independent journalists, to read between the lines and see what's happening.
If it's even that important anymore. I mean, it's corporate journalism. If you know you know.
But I'd argue if you don't know, you'll never find out without help.
It's bribery. And if Trump's asking for it, he's soliciting a bribe. Which should be illegal and independent prosecutors should be all over that.
I'm klaatu berada nichto between the sheets.
Long day with the olds. Tonight I'm watching Gimme Shelter (2013), directed by Ronald Krauss, starring Vanessa Hudgens, James Earl Jones, Rosario Dawson, Stéphanie Szostak, Emily Meade, Ann Dowd, and Brendan Fraser. It bombed and probably not unreasonably so. But maybe it's OK?

@carnage4life Any law firm with superceding deals with the federal government creates a presumption of conflict of interest with their client list.
@sinituulia I have had such a dog, and the main issue I had was that when the dog was immobile I couldn't lift her up by myself. So I'd add community support to the list of wishes to go with such dogs.
