@dave_heumann @drummmerandy I don't think she has an alpha-gal reaction to dairy, besides the usual lactose intolerance. I think the sugar issue is part of why it's such a delayed reaction, and harder to pinpoint

@drummmerandy yeah, it's easy enough to avoid, and she's always threatening to go vegan anyway. Only trick is eating at ethnic restaurants, where you aren't sure if they might sneak some lard or tallow into something

@drummmerandy we lived in Central NC, which was sort of the epicenter at the beginning. Knew a number of our friends say they were allergic to mammal meat and we were skeptical. but she started getting odd allergic reactions and panic attacks either mid day or at night. it took months to connect it to eating red meat. hasn't been hard to avoid since she was aware of it.
