Bon dia a tothom! Esteu llegint en català ara mateix? Què estàs llegint? #llegir #català

The tabby is called Mitjons, but we call him Michi. The black and white one is called Peekay. Mitjons will be two in September and Peekay will be 8 in the summer at some point, but we don't know exactly.

A tabby cat is curled on a soft blanket on a blue sofa with a black and white cat. Together they have become one cuddled ball of fluff. They're both sleeping soundly.

Writing about it at least helps to get it down somewhere. On the page, it's not my situation, it's the character's. I don't know if other people find that helpful, but for me, it's helpful to make it someone else's and then try to look at it from the outside in.

#WhatImWritingAbout
Recently a family member with whom I have a complicated relationship was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. In truth, it feels like I don't really have a relationship with him, we barely speak. We differ in almost all of our views and values, but we're very similar in two ways: we're both very stubborn and very protective. This diagnosis has led to contact with other family members with whom I had cut ties. Kinda makes you wish there were a flow chart or something for navigating it.

What are you #reading at the moment?

I'm starting A Passage North by Anuk Arudpragasam today. I'm also slowly making my way through Bora Chung's Cursed Bunny. I like read through short stories little by little.

One of my favourite things about Mastodon so far is how open everyone seems to be about making friends, because I often find that a bit difficult to gauge sometimes. Also enjoying the 'add notes' function on profiles and also the labels idea.

@helenpugh ahhhh, it wasn't my idea, I copied and pasted it from someone else. But thanks!

@helenpugh I've just gone back and checked and it was @camillaengelby I copied it from.

Also, just to let you all know, sometimes I don't know how to read my tone. This means sometimes I might sound a bit... Direct without realising it. Please know I never intend to upset anyone and am happy to be pulled up on it. I don't know if it's the #dyslexia or what, but it happens 😅

@kor8rok I will and they shall respond "of course, what's new?"

To help some of the newcomers make connections: name 5–7 things that interest you but aren't in your profile, as tags so they are searchable. Then boost this post or repeat its instructions so others know to do the same.

These are my cats. This wouldn't be a social media account of mine with them 😅

A tabby cat and a black and white cat lie, cuddled together, on a pastel green blanket on the sofa. The black and white cat is asleep, resting his chin on the tabby cat's body, while the tabby cat is awake but relaxed, looking at the camera.

I think it's probably a good idea to carry over the hashtags from birdsite so we can find each other so I'm going to use the following for translation stuff:

Tradumast?? That one probably isn't going to stick 😅
