I have moved my account. I will not go into details in regards of the reasons behind this decision.

All I will say is, that you can now find my account over at Swiss.social: swiss.social/@andre_601

@netkitty I didn't say I wouldn't. I just said there are a lot of people that can/should too.

@arcticfoxbot Alright, the embed finally depicts the image, after I appended a random query parameter to the url.

So it must've been Discord acting up again.

@arcticfoxbot yeah, it may be discord acting up. Will see if adding a random query will update it properly

@arcticfoxbot It seems posts no longer embed their images?
Either that or the image just won't load...

@arcticfoxbot that toy looks to me more like a squeaky ball for dogs.

@Codeberg Not sure if this is related, but I noticed a significantly higher delay in between triggering a merge (Confirming a merge commit) and the commit actually being merged (Site being updated)

@slicedlime MC Page finally got a dark theme. Took them only like 5+ years or smth...

@homegrown @forgejo @Codeberg One important thing to remember about Codeberg: They are a non-profit and not a multi-million/billion company.

So, if you consider having an account there and making some repositories, try to make them worth being on Codeberg.
Mirrors from other forges should be avoided (Although Codeberg doesn't outright forbid having mirrors on their site), as the finances of Codeberg aren't infinite and so isn't their storage space and computing power.

tl;dr: Try to keep your impact on Codeberg low (i.e. spreading out commits) and try to avoid just making mirrors on it.

@MastodonEngineering Will you eventually add a dark theme to the blog? It's a (literal) pain in the eye to read it...

@Codeberg pull request templates.
@forgejo's support for yaml-based templates is an awesome addition that I love a lot.
Meanwhile #github only has Markdown-based templates, which is just so limiting.

Only thing I wish forgejo would have, is a PR template chooser similar to issues. Would make it so much more useful.

@Codeberg One argument I have against AI in coding is that it reduces the knowledge you obtain from programming it yourself.

If you have an issue to solve, you may first try a few ways and if that doesn't work, you research the issue to see if someone else has had the same issue and found a solution (i.e. by looking at #StackOverflow) and if you're lucky, you implement the solution you found, else you communicate with others who have experience in it to find a solution.

Meanwhile with AI, you tell it the issue and it spits out a copyable code, often times with a bare-bones explanation that lacks info and context...

It may help beginners getting into programming, but it reduces the overall learning experience you may have from usual trial and error, and researching a solution.
