Have you ever wished you could write simple CSS to declare a color, and then have the browser figure out whether black or white should be paired with that color? Well, now you can, with contrast-color(). Here’s how it works. https://webkit.org/blog/16929/contrast-color/
I’m going down the rabbit hole of dark mode and what makes a good implementation good. What are your favorite applications of dark mode on web or apps? what do you like about it?
Thanks!

I’ve been doing UX for almost 15 years now.
I have seen at least 3 different shifts in tooling, they are not pretty.

As of last night, my first two books — RESPONSIVE WEB DESIGN, and RESPONSIVE DESIGN: PATTERNS AND PRINCIPLES — are available to read online, for free.
I had some emotions about it: https://ethanmarcotte.com/wrote/books-no-longer-apart/
I’m writing a #newsletter called Own Your Web about designing, building, creating, and publishing for and on the #Web. It took a little work-induced break but the next issue is ready and will go out this Sunday.

I think it's going to be more important than ever that #Mastodon and the #fediverse are not centrally operated out of the US unlike almost every other social media platform out there.
@webjac (more than 4 years) that’s the really scary part.
🇺🇸 friends you had one job… what happened?
@Cmarriotti @viticci exactly my thoughts when saw the specs. It's on par with the air m2. So, why so high expectations for the mini (specially seeing its price) and not the air?
