@Spacedrake i don't think discoverability is a barrier too much, but it's a 'gossip protocol' which is pretty unique so
A makes a post, they're friends with B who sees it. C is only friends with B but they see A's post. But X is only friends with C so they may not see the content of the post but only see that A posted.
Once you peer with a few big peers then the network populates pretty well though.

@Spacedrake yup, and it's not flimsy or a twitter clone, it's really more like livejournal, longform blogging, and email but with tagging and other neat stuff

@Spacedrake secure scuttlebutt: patchwork, it's a pain to install and needs an invite but it's a whole different world because truly no one owns it and every user has a large chunk of the whole social network locally
