The weird thing about living in a chaotic and violent time is how dulling and repetitive it is
“Sounds like a plan!” -Me when I wasn’t listening and can only hope there is now a plan
By the age of 30, you should be friends with several local ducks
Dance like you are not currently under surveillance by agents who laugh at your dance moves
@mappingsupport we figured it out! drama avoided!
@mappingsupport this is second hand, but we're making a OS map with pins, it works locally but not when published. i'll see if i can get some more info
anyone here good at #leaflet / #openstreetmap ?
@jakobrosin i do admit though, that it is facinating to me that a blind guy fixes those machines. i have fixed a 1930-ish typewriter and MAN that is insanely complicated.
@jakobrosin yes, absolutely. i imagine they send them abroad :( we should be better at fixing things.
@VoiceofDuum @benteh.no
🙄 ..but i guess that doesn't make the story enough "adorable" and "human interest". annoying thing, facts. @jakobrosin
@VoiceofDuum same name
@VoiceofDuum hi – i'm only here intermittently, mainly lurking. most of my action happens at Bluesky :)
@jakobrosin @jakobrosin an absolute delight to have you and Maarja with us, Jakob. We could honestly not do this without you <3
it was a single Mastodon post by @benteh, a little a year ago, who was looking for an accessibility specialist to talk to about making web and mobile apps more accessible. Now, I am sitting in an airport lounge, having completed my first ever accessibility workshop delivered internationally, and I am happy that #Talentech is looking for. a bright future in making accessible HR and recruitment solutions. The team is committed, and as one of the participants mentioned during our closing today, they now can see people behind the WCAG rules. Thank you for the invitation. P.S: Gdansk is a fantastic city. GO for a river cruise and you won't regret it.
So, helloo! #Universeodon! an #Introduction is in order, I feel. I’m Jakob. I work as an accessibility consultant, meaning I train and educate companies and people on how to make their products and services more human friendly for everyone, including people with disabilities. I am blind since birth, which has brought me to work within the disability advocacy sector, particularly through Estonian Blind Union, where I am the president. I’m also an audio nerd. I seriously am an audio perfectionist and have usually a few microphones with me to capture interesting noises and moments. I’ll occasionally post my #audioPhotograph here as well. Sometimes, I play piano and use #LogicPro to create some tingelbingelings. I live in Estonia with my family, but travelling, wether because of work or for fun is in my heart. The noises in other countries are always more fun. Anyway, hit that reply and say hi!
