Last night's concert was amazing! 🔥 re:verse | re:structure offered a journey of six live coding performances exploring syntax, memory, glitch, and hybrid media. Big thanks to everyone who came, and especially to the performers:
Rafael Bresciani, Panagiota Anastasopoulou, Jessica A. Rodríguez, Ted Davis, Matthias Schneiderbanger & Holger Ballweg, and Citlali Hernández & Eloi Isern.
Want a second round? Tonight we continue at Sala Beckett with the concert re:veal | re:co:de (tickets available)
@fasterthanlime You won't be part of any goo because currently our value as people is mostly measured in terms of labour we can do to help people with power make things, and when we don't have to do it anymore then we're just mouths to feed. Does that sound like it's going to go down well? Do you have a plan for how to make tech oligarchs care about people who have nothing to offer to them anymore?
@fasterthanlime None of this will help the public good. It should but it won't, we'll always get the scraps and crumbs off the profits capitalists will make after laying us all off and replacing us with AI sludge we still have to pay for.
Yesterday we started the academic program at UOC with two inspiring paper sessions diving into live coding beyond computers and speculative futures. 🤖
💻 In the afternoon, the concert ‘Liveness in Verse’ brought a fusion of code and poetry, with performances by Jasmin Meerhoff, Jia Liu, and TOPLAP Athenes.
🗣️ We then dove into wonders of space, presence, and human/non-human interaction with Anna Xambó.
The riff at like 0:42 hahaha.

"I powered through an immense anxiety attack to deliver this talk. I also powered through months of harassment to assemble it. I’m not yet sure if I’m proud of myself for not giving up, but here it is.
It exists. I hope someone out there will appreciate it…"

@calzila was threatening us with taking a sleeper train from Berlin back from A MAZE, I think that would have been quite a long one.

@rumblesan Well tbf it also died because it cost like 500 dollars and it took you to the most expensive city in America where you need a $5k ticket to go to the most expensive game dev conference.
@rumblesan Trainjam died because of covid 😢
@rumblesan Back in the before times we used to do this:
https://trainjam.com/
maybe there should be a similar algotrainjam, maybe book out a eurostar car on the way to the next european ICLC lol.
Whenever I do super collider stuff at an algorave I find it difficult to make stuff that I like.
Whenever I do super collider stuff on the train I make loads of stuff that I like.
I think I need to organise an algorave on a train…
