I used to think about the moon a lot as a kid.

I loved to watch it through the trees on car rides.

It followed me everywhere. Not in a creepy way, always in a warm comforting way.

A mushroom (not very good at identifying mushrooms so if anyone is more confident in their abilities please let me know) growing underneath a fallen hemlock. There is some moss and small ferns growing in the duff. This is at the far end of the trail my son and I hiked today.

Closer to where we parked there is this rocky outcrop that I always loved playing on as a kid. It's a popular spot with locals, names are often carved into the rocks. This is a large maple tree growing among the mossy rocks and eastern hemlocks.

Also near the far end of the lake we hiked around, I just liked the way the sunlight lit up this rocky spot on the side of this ravine. The hemlocks, beech and maple make a dense canopy that keeps it fairly dark even in the brightest part of the day.
