As long as a President maintains the loyalty of a core constituency of his own political party, there is now no remedy while he is in office or after he leaves office, to hold him accountable to the law, neither impeachment (which will fail to convict) or criminal prosecution for official acts (presumptive immunity).
Nothing to stop the President from conspiring to remain in office for life, save a military coup.

The US claims it was negotiating in "good faith" but had no "genuine partner" for peace in Iran.
We've heard this line for decades in the context of Israel, who have always claimed they lacked a partner for peace. In fact, the historical record of negotiations is the opposite. And since Kissinger the US has sided with Israel in peace negotiations, if not excluding Palestinian representation then blaming the Palestinians for failure. Israel under Netanyahu has never sought peace, but expansion.

I'm on team Humanity First. I have never understood why I should value my nation's interests over any other.
I'm also on team Save Earth First. My nation's current regime is intent on burning down the planet as quickly and efficiently as possible. They're nuts.
I'm a citizen of the planet, and a neighbor to all of its people, with a collective responsibility. Every other personal priority or gain is a distraction we cannot afford.
Three aims most motivate Trump: (1) stealing money by any dishonest means available (extortion, fraud, corruption, ...), (2) avenging a bruised and bottomless ego against the success of figures like Obama (ACA, JCPOA, ...), and (3) using power to hurt classes of people he hates (immigrants, the poor, the educated, ...).

I remember listening to my Representative Peter DeFazio speak on the House floor during the debate in 2002. Four years later I voted for him in the 2006 midterm elections after seeing the ugly and senseless reality of the Iraq war.

We are a gullible bunch here in the U S of A. Raise your hand if you trusted GW... until you didn't. I'm raising my hand, left him and his war and party in 2006 after voting for him twice. At least GW pretended to favor democracy at home and abroad.
Trump has shown every sign he desires to destroy our own democratic institutions and reach for dictatorial control here at home. We even question if midterm elections will happen without interference. Now he wants to bring democracy to Iran? Right.
