@arzi Probably best to use the Help menu to report a bug and share logs. It might be Solution Wide Analysis running, but it should end after a couple of minutes, and shouldn't cause issues with the rest of the OS.

Rider 2025.1 is coming with mixed-mode debugging https://blog.jetbrains.com/dotnet/2025/01/08/rider-2025-1-roadmap/#mixed-mode-debugging 🥳
That plus hopefully, later this year (or next?), a rework of the debugging windows to use a table instead of unaligned variables and I could start to switch from VS+R#! Hope that the debugger will allow to also investigate raw/managed memory directly and debug steps at the assembler level 🙏

@piersmyers @khalidabuhakmeh I’m here! 👋 I am rather quiet here, but I’m also rather quiet at the other place. Still haven’t properly moved away, and still haven’t properly moved here…

@fornever @khalidabuhakmeh just because I have an English accent doesn’t necessarily make a villain.
@nixbb @khalidabuhakmeh @maartenballiauw @citizenmatt great question! It’s on the radar, and we have some things in progress, but nothing to announce right now. It’s also a little bit niche - there’s not much demand for it right now
@khalidabuhakmeh @citizenmatt is this because of my “developers put the ANAL into IANAL” line? I did think that was a good one
Okay @khalidabuhakmeh you've inspired me to broaden my horizons and learn me some #rust
The latest version of #JetBrainsRider has our new terminal implementation. It has some real smarts, like command completion. Check it out in the new #EAP. #dotnet #terminal
Glad that we just got JetBrains Rider/R# updated yesterday https://blog.jetbrains.com/blog/2023/12/08/ready-for-an-update-the-2023-3-versions-of-jetbrains-coding-tools-are-out/ before x-mas🚀
As I was heavily relying on .NET 8 and C# 12 features, I was getting plenty of red squiggles all other my codebase in the past months 😅
More than 20 years ago, I remember that I was already a strong user of IntelliJ - that I brought to my company at that time. JetBrains has been delivering excellence in software development tools for so long! ❤️
@xoofx Thanks Alexandre! This is exactly the kind of feedback we love. The team are really good at looking critically at the tools they're using and building, but it's still very easy to get used to the way things work now, and overlook improvements we could make, so it's great to hear good suggestions like these. Keep them coming 😁!

Sweet: Rider 2023.2 improvements for editing Unity ShaderLab (.shader) files. https://blog.jetbrains.com/dotnet/2023/07/25/improvements-to-unity-shader-files-in-rider-2023-2/
@maartenballiauw @range_marten oh that’s pretty nifty!
Some very cool productivity enhancements coming to https://mastodon.gamedev.place/@unity ShaderLab support in JetBrains Rider 2023.2. Typing assistance, live templates, even ctrl+click navigation and rename of shader and pass names!
