@oe_simon doch, abseits der O-Bahn fahren die Busse dann auf unterschiedlichen Linien weiter. Meinte Fahrzeuge sind günstiger als im Schienenverkehr, zumindest bei der Anschaffung.
@oe_simon lässt sich mit konventionellen Buslinien verbinden, Fahrzeuge sind günstiger. Aber natürlich werden für die gleichen Kapazitäten dann auch deutlich mehr Fahrzeuge benötigt als im Schienenverkehr.

What to do during a heatwave with temperatures up to 48°? I decided to go on a short trip to #PortDock 🇦🇺 in Port Adelaide for a paddle through the mangroves and a nice visit to the National Railway Museum.
Travelling to #Belair 🇦🇺 National Park on a hybrid #AdelaideMetro train. The line consists of two tracks, one broad-gauge track for the frequent metro service and one standard-gauge track for freight and long-distance trains towards Melbourne.
Taking the #Overland service from #Melbourne 🇦🇺 Southern Cross to #Adelaide Parklands Terminal. The train takes about 10.5 hours to cover 828 km and offers a lovely @diningcar
It runs twice a week and in my case it arrived in Adelaide on time.
In #Frankston with a smart 2-minute change at the same platform to the #StonyPointLine, a single-track diesel line to the southern coast. The old Sprinter units are now used only here and on the broad-gauge line to Seymour.
From Stony Point you can get with a small ferry to FrenchIsland and #PhillipIsland, the latter famous for its beaches and wildlife parks.
Short trip to #Sandringham 🇦🇺, only 30 minutes from #Melbourne CBD. The beach offers an easy option to have a swim or take a walk along the coastal trail.
The Sandringham Line is the only line starting and terminating at Flinders Street Station and it usually runs every 8 to 20 minutes.

Seit 12.10.2025 fährt die #TramTrieste von Trieste nach Villa Opicina wieder nicht mehr, aufgrund "eines technischen Problems". Die "schnellstmögliche Wiederherstellung" scheint auch wieder Zeit zu brauchen, anscheinend bis zum 01.02.2026.
