This picture is an absurdly good example of the difference between acceptable and unacceptable levels of wealth accumulation. One can realistically use all of the house on the left, especially with family there. On the right, we see a gigantic waste of space, resources and money, the majority of which will likely rarely be touched by anyone save the cleaners.

In all seriousness, weed has its own dangers. It can easily cut into sleep if used close to bedtime, leading to physical symptoms of exhaustion. It can exacerbate existing psychological issues to unmanageable levels. Early and persistent exposure can impede critical periods of brain development. While not chemically addictive, it is still possible to get hooked on it to a detrimental degree.
CoD advertising THC to an audience that includes a lot of kids is irresponsible.
I play Warzone occasionally. This shit was absolutely insane - a full event centered around weed and featuring Seth Rogan. I know your first instinct is to go "Well yeah, it's Call of Duty", but bear with me.
CoD might be rated M, but the reality is that a good chunk of the playerbase are kids and teenagers. They may not be the "intended demographic", but it's still a fact that they see this shit.

America should be a stark warning about Liberals promising big and then failing to live up to those promises in any truly meaningful way. Lead by example, not by words.

I get that the housing situation in North America is messed up but saying that about one of the only major leaders in NA who has actually had a solid vision to address this is wild to me.
Congrats, Canada, you fuckin' glorious hoseheads. You are now North America's best example of a democracy. Don't stop here - continue this momentum and carve out your country's place in history. You can be a continuing beacon of stability for the world, but you can't let your guard fall - not even for a second.

for the past few years, i'm sure many of you have read my many lamentations about the death of the old, small web many of us grew up with.
there are tons of static site generators out there, but none of them did what i wanted: something that could build an entire site without futzing with javascript and library dependencies. i wanted something that we would have had in 2005, but didn't have in 2025.
in january, i decided to do something about it instead of whining. i started gluing together a few php scripts i had been using to build blogs, rss feeds and mini homepages. i even wrote a new mini markup language.
i thought it would take me a week. it took >3 months. 😅
it ran for the past month as globaltalk.network's interactive site, and many of you asked if i'd ever let other people spin up an instance. i can finally say: yes!
today, kiki is officially finished and released for public use. named after my little black house demon, it's small, fast, and sometimes well behaved. and, it's all written in php without a single external dependency. just unzip and go.
it's released as shareware - in the oldest, finest, jankiest meaning of the word: you're free to goof around with and share the unregistered version. build your own little kiki instance, and customize the heck out of it until it feels like your own little home in the world wide web:

Also, this is proof that pressure works. When someone actually does something, the needle moves. This needs to be a lesson to the Schumers of the world: good can be done, things can be changed, but only when you put forth the effort and courage necessary to make it so.
Lots to be done, but this is a heartening start.
