Great to see talented sand artists at work as summer approaches.

@neonbubble @teahands Thoughts and prayers, buddy ❤️
@neonbubble @teahands First he has a pop at Imbruglia, then he's having a go at megamixes... Rough day?
@davetansley Also worth pointing out that I’m not watching but I 100% know which song you’re talking about
This is a lovely song. Shut up.
What's a trombelice?
@Anomnomnomaly @losttourist And we are eternally grateful.
This is Declan.
Declan likes collecting leaves, windy weather, and interrupting @thegiddystitcher while she tries to nap by climbing on her head.
The fact that "Slugs" and "Snowbeast" were released several decades after #ForbiddenPlanet suggests to me that human civilisation was almost wiped out in the late fifties and we had to re-learn cinema from scratch.
@losttourist @HowardGees Wait, I *do* like it.
@RichChappo You know what it is? It's because they monkeyed with the formula and tried to make it into a serious music show, instead of a cheesy bit of nonsense. It don't feel right.
Also, the music is terrible.
Reap reap reap reap.
Is this whole episode some kind of cruel joke or something?
I know it's a horrifically basic thing to say, but I genuinely think that "James: The Best Of" might be one of my favourite albums.

There's something that is still appealing about vinyl.
The intricate art, the lyrics, having to get up to change sides. It adds a kind of intentionality to music listening that seems missing in days of ubiquitous streaming, where you listen to an album and before you know it you've dropped off into an infinite playlist of similar songs.
With Spotify, there's seemingly no incentive to get to know a challenging album...
I can see why vinyl is making an inexplicable comeback.
It's a challenge buying presents for my dad. He's a quiet, content man, with no interests that we haven't thoroughly exploited in years of b'days and xmases.
But this year, we hit gold. Turns out he kept his old vinyl collection, so we bought him a turntable that he can connect via Bluetooth to his smart speaker (I know, I know, analogue purists cringe).
I went round this morning and played a few records with him... starting with the album that seeded my own musical taste.
@nazokiyoubinbou I'm very much one of the group that appreciated the minimalist design.
Being so focused on one or two tasks (protect the girl, escape the castle) meant I could appreciate the atmosphere more. I don't think it needed levelling or skills, because it was more of an experience kind of game. Similarly, cluttering the castle with collectibles or lore would detract from the sparse melancholy, and leave less room for personal interpretation.
Sometimes, less is more, I think.
@neonbubble Ne'er cast a clout till May be out.
So that's Ico - brilliant but flawed, a victim of the time it was released.
Maybe check out the PS3 remaster over the PS2 original, to see if it improves on its failings.
But even with its flaws, I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys exploration or atmosphere or puzzle solving in their games.
