I opened up Mastodon and saw several toots with #ForbiddenPlanet hashtags. Which was coincidental cuz I ran across this in my closet the other day. Along with tons of other books.
Wishing my flat sounded like Forbidden Planet in it's domestic noises...
Version of #ForbiddenPlanet where all the astronauts are femme lesbians, and they're all attracted to the scientist's daughter, who is the one butch lesbian in the movie.
The daughter flirts back by asking to help fix their Klyston transmitter with a comically gigantic wrench. The astronauts don't need help but they let her come just to hang out.
Instead of a sparkly dress, the daughter asks Robbie to synthesize her a flannel shirt to go with her tank top.

A lot of people have made 3D computer or physical models of the Enterprise from Star Trek, but this is the same sort of thing with the settings from Forbidden Planet.

This DOES describe Roger Corman's "Forbidden World" (1982).
Not that feminists are going to like it any better, but it does technically pass the Bechdel Test.

i actually have a little headcanon here which is
he created that himself. maybe even as he was dying. confronted with his subconscious, confront_ing_ his subconscious, he gained a little more control over his power and in doing so brought his own death - but was able to build that before dying.
#ForbiddenPlanet reveals at a majestic pace the truth at the heart of every #Monsterdon : the true monster is ourselves. The eerie sounds, the music, the sets, the matte paintings, the effects combine to set a bar not surpassed for years after the movie's release. While the portrayal of the men interacting with the ONE WOMAN hasn't aged well, Alta herself navigated that rough terrain with confidence and poise.
