Look, I don’t really care what anyone’s opinions on drag shows are. There is no excuse for the threats of violence, veiled or otherwise. (And everyone should be concerned about what happened in Moore County and with other power substations around the country.) Anti-LGBTQ+ violence is indefensible. It is just as indefensible as violence against ethnic and racial minorities and religious minorities—or anyone.

@wnknisely @jfmiller28 Id also talk to as many staff and faculty as possible about student needs and see if your parish can help with it. E.g, a student focus food pantry, an emergency cash fund for students, maybe parking? My other advice is campus ministry is also for staff and faculty! Build those relationships too, as they tend to stick around longer than students. Campus ministry must alway be primarily about relationships, not numbers!
@wnknisely @jfmiller28 I’ve never attempted at a community college per se but one campus I planted at was largely commuter. Still, residential students made up our core. If I were to attempt at a CC, I’d start with simply meeting lots of students in more 1 on 1 or small informal gatherings, see who has an interest in forming something more, and go from there. I’d give it 2 years before expecting a regular weekly group, if ever. It may meet during the day on campus
@wnknisely my parish does carols at 10:30pm on Christmas Eve ahead of the 11pm Eucharist
Happy Saint Nicholas’ Day! My kids shared some of their chocolate coins with me 🥹
@FrPaulHCastelli did you make this?

What’s everyone doing for New Year’s Eve tonight?
@jamesmelvin we love to hear it!
@wnknisely That is commendable! I wish every diocese was working toward that. WV has one at Marshall (that I serve as part of my parish work) and… that’s it. But I think there might be efforts at WVU again in the future
Praying this morning, like so many mornings, that God will melt the hearts of those in government who oppose gun control laws. Too many people have died so that they can retain their power.
There was some lovey discussion and energy around planting #Episcopal campus ministries on the Other Site last night. I love campus ministry! And I think that #TEC should rally more resources to plant campus ministries and parishes on campuses
@erinjeanwarde sorry to bother you, then, upstanding citizen
