Boomer parents are so entitled they think they can do anything just because they are your parent. A parents job is to make you feel safe and secure, if they can't do that then they don't owe you jack shit no matter what they may or may not have not done in the past. Parents shouldn't hold over your head that just because they are your parent they can make your life hell.

I had to kick both of my parents out of my life due to this entitled behavior.

Been thinking and this thought has just crossed my mind: Why do we humans have things in hierarchical fashion ? The way we live (rulers, idols), the way countries function, the way we acquire knowledge (in order to subtract we have to learn how add). It's maybe our brain recognizes and works only with hierarchical patterns. This is why we have mathematics the way it is and this is why we cannot grasp the quantum world. But just a hypothesis....
